Home and School Special Events

The Spring Coupon Book Fundraiser is back!! There are a number of new establishments included in these books, as well as some old favourites!

The information sheets and order forms were sent home this week.

Completed order forms, and cash or cheques made out to Stratford Elementary Home and School will be collected on April 29, April 30 and  May 1. Please do NOT send them back until these dates.

Part of the money raised goes to the QEH and other charities, and half of all sales will go to Stratford Elementary Home & School to support the students at SES.

What: Our local reality: youth and their online lives on PEI

When: Tuesday, April 15th 6-8pm

Where: Stratford Elementary School Gym

Come hear presentations on the challenges facing our youth and learn about resources available to families from local guest speakers working in this field. We will have representatives from the RCMP, the Community Legal Information Association (CLIA), and the local chapter of Unplugged Canada.

PLEASE NOTE: These sessions are for parents and caregivers ONLY. Due to the nature of these subjects children will not be admitted to this event.

This Parent Leadership Project is supported by the PEI Home & School Federation and is an initiative of Stratford Elementary School Home & School.

Pink Slips Tally

Fun Fact: As of April 10, the school has awarded 5556 positive Caught-You-Caring pink slips this school year. Keep it up students! You are amazing, kind, respectful, responsible, and caring citizens!

 

Easter Seals Fundraiser: Sour Key Sale

Our Sour Key Sale to support the Easter Seals Ambassador Tour is next week. So far, we’ve raised over $1000! THANK YOU!

Students will be able to order a sour key on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday for $1.00 (maximum of 2 keys). Sour Keys will be delivered to classrooms on Thursday.

 

 

Extra Clothing

Please send an extra pair of pants and a top with your children; our playground is quite muddy, and we’ve had a number of students needing a change of clothes during the day.

The Bog: Charlottetown’s historic Black neighbourhood.

We are thrilled to announce The Bog Tours are back!

Join us this Spring to explore The Bog: Charlottetown’s historic Black neighbourhood. Discover the lesser-known parts of our history and see the places where the Island’s historic Black community lived and thrived.

Tours take place on Fridays and Saturdays beginning April 11 until May 31st. Tours start and end at Beaconsfield Historic House and are FREE for SCHOOLS community organizations, clubs, sports teams, associations, volunteer groups and more! Individuals can also book using our pay-what-you-can option (suggested amount of $5). School groups are welcome up to approximately 40 students per tour.

Please note this is a walking tour (45 minutes) and weather-dependent.

Hoops for Hospice 3-on-3 Basketball Tournament!

We're excited to partner with Mr. Jeff Perry, President of Charlottetown Minor Basketball, to bring you this fun event, all in support of Hospice PEI!

Here are the event details:

Date & Time: April 12th, 2:00 - 5:00 PM
Location: Spring Park Elementary School, Charlottetown

This is a U12 Co-ed Division 3-on-3 Tournament, and it’s a great opportunity to have fun while supporting a fantastic cause.

Event Details:

  • Team Registration: $100 for a team of 4
  • Individual Sign-Up: $25 per player
  • Payment Options:
    • Cash (before or on the day of the event)
    • Credit/Debit (before or on the day of the event)

 3-Point Shootout Contest:
